Electricity produced at the RE Skawina S.A and the RE Chorzów S.A. is sold via a brokerage house on the Polish Power Exchange (TGE) through forward contracts and partially on the spot market (day-ahead market).
Additionally, both companies actively participate in the balancing market operated by PSE S.A., where surplus energy beyond contracted volumes is sold, and energy is purchased to meet contractual obligations in case of reduced production. The balancing market is a technical market that enables producers to balance the energy required for production.
Electricity generated by RE Skawina from the hydroelectric plants HPP Borek (0.76 MWe) and HPP Skawina II (0.92 MWe) is sold under a three-year OTC contract to E.ON Polska. Moreover, the hydro plants participate in the Feed-in-Premium support scheme, under which Zarządca Rozliczeń S.A. compensates the negative balance between the support system price and the current market price on TGE.
